1970: Campus Uprisings
In 1970, 44 percent of college students believed that violence was
justified to bring about change. The clenched fist became the emblem,
T-shirts and jeans the uniform, and corporate liberalism the enemy.

Yet until the May 1970 shooting of four Kent State students, most Boomers did not believe the Vietnam War was wrong, only that it was badly led.
