1971: Marvin Gaye, What's Goin' On

This was the "new" Marvin Gaye, as some of his fellow musicians had described him. There was a kind of wisdom attained from the 1960s, resulting in a new type of "concerned" artwork based on philosophical and social themes. It was ostensibly the beginning of anxious, out-of-control times across the globe.
