In terms of the evolution of media, the Awakening was four years early. Technology makes the world ready for change sometimes decades before it actually happens. It is "tectonic" in the sense that the energy held in abeyance is released all at once, which is how it may happen now and in the future. Scientists and thinkers see the possibilities and probabilities more easily as it is at the forefront of their lives. At the quotidian level, where most of us spend most of our lives, it would be difficult to see the changes happening.

The phrase "With It" sounds hokey in contemporary parlance, but this is still relevant at the core.
