1964: Stan Getz

The early 1960s were really more of an extension of the conservative 1950s. Jazz was by no means conservative by the metric of the 1940s, but this video demonstrates how stiff performers were in front of television cameras. In this video of Stan Getz' "Girl From Ipanema, Astrud Gilberto is almost catatonic, but probably was not seen as such in 1964.

The stage design here is also interesting, inspired by pop art and the curvilinear designs of Robert Indiana. TV cameras in use as of 1964 were probably the RCA TK40-41 series.
