1977: Robert Irwin, "Scrim Veil — Black Rectangle — Natural Light"

The piece consists of a white translucent scrim dividing the space, with a black line on the wall creating the sensation of the perception of suspended rectangles, and giving the observer the illusion that the room was separating into its constituent parts.
