1970: Start of Environmentalism

Apparently "Breathe", the opening track on Dark Side of the Moon, was repurposed from the soundtrack from the 1970 documentary The Body. The first Earth day was in 1970, the official start of The Environmental Movement. The juxtaposition of images of smokestacks in the countryside, and other downer images--set against Roger Water's typical sardonic ironicism, cajoles us to breathe in the air. (See end of clip)
