1960: Owen Frampton/David Bowie

In 1960, David Bowie studied art under the tutelage of Owen Frampton (father of Peter Frampton) at Beckenham Technical School, one of the first art-oriented high schools in England. [more...]























Born in 1919, Owen Frampton (a G.I.) was a primary influence to both son Peter and David Bowie. Another student of Frampton, George Underwood, became a painter and designed the album covers for Space Oddity, Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust.
