At some point in the 1960s (probably around the time of the car crash series) Andy Warhol proclaimed, "When you see a gruesome picture over and over again, it doesn’t really have any effect", and this is in fact what transpired: if a shock is continuous, it is only human to gird yourself against it.
The film is interesting in that its production incorporates elements from the 1950s, e.g. a syrupy score, and hosted and narrated by a G.I.
